Training Exercise – Optical Grisaille Underpainting (2.0)
In order to grasp fundamental principles and to tune-up for the rest of our journey, we will begin in a homage to the teaching methods of the renaissance guilds and academies by making a 'value study'.
This warm-up exercise introduces three important concepts
- cartoon and transfer
- imprimatura
- optical grisaille underpainting
