Introduction to Marouflage (making a canvas panel)
Marouflage is a 3000 year old technique of affixing canvas or another fabric to a wall (wet plaster for instance) or wooden panel. Marouflage creates a very nice support for painting which creates artwork that is resilient to time and mechanical stress.
Put simply, marouflage is canvas glued to a panel. Soffio works best for largescale painting, and its possible to simply tape the canvas to a wall. But if that is not possible, marouflage is a good alternative. It is also an excellent substrate for oil painting in general.

Marouflage creates a very nice support for painting which creates artwork that is resilient to time and mechanical stress, since the otherwise fragile fabric is supported by a rigid panel. Materials needed – canvas, panel, eva or pva glue, glazing brush, scizzors, some card and some weights.
